REDEFINING SPACE SUPERIORITY

Victoria Defense provides mission-driven technologies to safeguard national interests in the space domain. Focused on the next generation of orbital defense, we aim to redefine security beyond Earth.

“What if free people could live secure in the knowledge that their security did not rest upon the threat of instant U.S. retaliation to deter a Soviet attack, that we could intercept and destroy strategic ballistic missiles before they reached our own soil or that of our allies?”

-Ronald Reagan, Strategic Defense Initiative Address to the Nation, 1983

In 2019, NATO formally recognized space as an operational domain. Adversaries are now deploying space-based assets that threaten U.S. space superiority, a cornerstone of national defense. Space is a unique domain that poses several challenges to traditional weapon systems:

A NEw domain of adversarial engagement

The time of an ICBM’s boost phase, when it is still above enemy territory. Space-based weapon systems must be able to sucessfuly intercept this threat within this timeframe.

4 MINUTES

6-7 km/s

The speed of an ICBM by the time its rocket engines shut down and the approximate speed of space assets orbiting in Low-Earth Orbit. Space-based weapon systems must be able to strike fast targets.

The order of magnitude of the distance between a space-based weapon and its target, which demands strategic constellations and long‑range interception capability.

a new era calls for radical solutions

The vision is not new — but the technology is. Since President Reagan’s 1983 Strategic Defense Initiative, the United States has sought to place defensive assets in orbit, but the tools of the time were inadequate. Today, at the dawn of a new era, we possess the means to deploy true space‑based weapon systems. Yet dominance will not come from progress alone — it demands radical innovation on several frontiers. At Victoria Defense, we are committed to developing the most advanced space-based interceptors.
